Authorities have reported, that a small boat carrying six teenagers on a late night river trip, crashed into a bridge, killing one and injuring the five others onboard. Investigators are working on learning the cause of the one-vessel crash and to determine whether someone had loaned the teens the boat. Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission spokeswoman Liz Barraco said the 13-foot Boston Whaler was not owned by anyone directly related to them.She identified the teen who died as John M. Baker, 17. A classmate, Prince Hassan described him as "a good fisherman" and "the nicest kid ever." He said they were about to begin their senior year in high school. "We're all kids, we're all going to party, we're all going to have fun," Hassan said. "It could have happened to me last night. I could have been on that boat, but I decided not to go."

A couple from Port St. Lucie have been accused of sexually abusing a young relative for years. According to police, the South Florida couple allegedly turned the teen into their "sex slave" and sealed her off from the outside world for more than five years. Rob Johnson, 44, and his wife, Marie Johnson, 43, of Port. St. Lucie, were arrested and charged with felony sexual assault. The Port St. Lucie Police Department said the girl was sent to live with the Johnsons at age 13 after her mother died. The couple told the young girl that she could only be apart of their family id she agreed to have sex with them. In an arrest affidavit, investigators said she was told to call Rob Johnson "master," and Marie Johnson pushed her against a wall and held her by her throat until she agreed to the sexual demands.

According to Stuart Police, a 19-year-old was killed after a collision with a tractor trailer on U.S 1, just south of the Roosevelt Bridge. Cpl. Brian Bossio , Stuart police spokesperson stated that the accident happened about 11:40 a.m. as the bicyclist, Austin Robert Gilliam, of Port Lucie, and the southbound tractor-trailer collided.
Bossio stated that the details of how the collision occurred remains under investigation. There are sidewalks on both sides of U.S 1 in the area. He said there are no indications that the tractor-trailer driver was impaired. Bossio stated police are interviewing witnesses, and taking various measurements as part of the case.
Ryan St. Martin, who works at LubeDirect just north of the crash scene, said people associated with the nearby marina frequently ride bicycles in the area. He said he’s seen several crashes in the last year. “That’s the worst, though,” he said.

This past Saturday evening ended in tragedy when one man was killed and two others were injured in a boating accident in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
According to Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission officers, Dalton Shirley, also known as Dalton French, age 24 of Hollywood, Florida, was killed in the boating accident. Officials say that Dalton was sailing with his girlfriend, Justina Coronel, and friend, Austin Lail. The three were sailing along the Intracoastal Waterway near the Oakland Park Bridge around 8 p.m. Saturday. According to officials, the boat the three were sailing on was traveling along the waterway, side by side with another boat that was carrying six passengers on board. Investigators have not yet uncovered what was going on between the two boats at the time, however, the 20-foot recreational open motor boat that contained Dalton, lost control and slammed into a concrete dock near the 3200 block of Northeast 38th Street. A worker from Southwest Miami-Dade was killed while unloading vehicles from a car hauler. According to the Broward Sheriff’s Office, the accident occurred on South Dixie Highway. The victim was 37-year-old Ivan Figueras-Pino of Miami, Florida. Figueras-Pino had pulled over his tractor trailer on the side of the highway, in order to unload a vehicle in the 400 block at around 11:30 a.m. The sheriff’s spokeswoman, Dani Moschella, reported that Figueras-Pino had put on his hazards and lowered the ramp on the car hauler, which had stopped on the side of the northbound lanes. Figueras-Pino had been inside the back of the truck, removing the chains off of a car on the top rack, when an approaching northbound driver failed to stop. The driver was Joshua Stein of Oakland Park, who was operating a 2015 Hyundai Accent. Stein drove his vehicle up the lowered ramp, crushing Figueras-Pino.
